Old and current students of the great Ilesa Grammar School most especially the new crop have been urged to adhere strictly to the principles of Omoluwabiism as portrayed by the school. This call was made by the National Secretary of the Ilegsosa, Dr M M Omole.
Dr Omole was speaking in his capacity as Special Guest at the 2006 Annual Get Together of the 2003 Set of the Ilesa Grammar School Old Students’ Association held on Tuesday 26th of December 2006 at the Canon J A Akinyemi Hall, Ilesa Grammar School. He described Ilesa Grammar School as ‘a creditable platform for success’ whose products are ruling the roost in every sector of the society, home and abroad.
While delivering a lecture titled “Consolidation of Democracy as a form of Governance in Nigeria; the role of the youths” at the event, the Director of Programmes of the Osun State service of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) a.k.a Gold FM Ilesa, Mr. Kayode Joseph urged youths to play active roles in the political development of Nigeria. He urged youths to shun political violence in all its ramifications.
President of the 2003 Set of the Ilegsosa, Mr. Isaac Odeyemi extolled the virtues of Ilegrams’ old students describing them as role models that should be emulated by the young generation of old students.
The event also witnessed the launch of the Association’s magazine. Tagged ‘Camaraderie’, the magazine also features the history of Ilesa Grammar School as well as profile of prominent old students of the school who have contributed immensely to the social, political and economic development of Nigeria. The Controller News, Osun State service of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) a.k.a Gold FM Ilesa, Mr. Tunde Abiodun reviewed the magazine.
Other old students who graced the occasion are Barristers Femi Fafowora and Olabode Gbadebo while the Royal Father of the Day, Oba Adeyeye; The Ado-Oko of Ido-Oko Ijesa was represented.
