AN OLD STUDENT BECOMES THE SECOND NAVAL DIRECTOR

Commodore SEA Olamilokun, an old student of Ilesa Grammar School (1968-1972), is now the Director of Naval Education. Captain Olamilokun assumed office as the Director on 02 January 2004 to become the second Ilesa Grammar School old student to occupy that seat.  Commodore Victor Laseinde was the first Ilesa Grammar School old student to occupy the Director of Naval Education seat. He was the Director between 1998 and 2001. He is now happily retired from the Navy.



Before joining the Nigerian Navy in February 1980, Commodore Olamilokun was a lecturer at Lagos State College of Science and Technology Isolo having completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Lagos with Second Class Upper Division. He served in many naval establishments including becoming the pioneer commandant of Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta from 1990  to 1993. He also served at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji as a Directing Staff between 1995 and 1998 and a Chief Instructor between 2001 and 2002.  He is a fellow of National War College, Abuja Nigeria where he obtained fwc symbol and has completed Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan. Captain Olamilokun was the Award Winner of the General African Studies Prize of the University of Lagos in 1976. He was also the second best student in the Naval Faculty during his junior division course in Dec 1986. He loves jogging and playing squash. He has written 3 books on computer appreciation. He is married with children.
